Open House this Saturday for Student-Built Home
The three-bedroom, two-bathroom house with a two-car garage has many custom features, including hardwood floors, nine-foot ceilings with crown molding, ceiling fans, granite countertops in the kitchen and marble vanity tops in the bathrooms. The house also has many “green-build” features, with much of the cabinets, hardwood floors, carpet and insulation constructed with high-quality, recycled materials.

The house project is a joint partnership whereby the city of Kettering donated the land, and Fairmont Construction Trades instructor, Lou Laquaglia, and his students coordinated the purchasing of materials and provided the labor to build the home. The construction of new homes in the Wiles Creek area is just one part of the plans the city has for a total neighborhood improvement that will include a new park, additional single- and multi-family homes and a retirement community.

The Delta House is now “on the market,” and there will be purchase information available at the Open House
